Wayanad offers a myriad of places for its visitors to explore and these include spots like the Chembra peak and Pakshipathalam. Trekking to Chembra Lake is often considered dangerous. So, all the travellers get to unravel their adventurous souls when in Wayanad. Whereas to reach Pakshipathalam, travellers will have to cover 17 kilometres of dense forest. Again, Wayanad is full to the brim with waterfalls, ancient caves, and a variety of wildlife sanctuaries for the travellers to enjoy.
While the Wayanad wildlife sanctuary is all about enjoying the wildlife. The place is rich in biodiversity and is an integral part of Nilgiri biosphere too. Kuruvadweep is literally an island situated at the eastern corner of Wayanad. The place offers a different experience with the crickets chirping and the birds whistling all around. However, the entry is restricted to 200 people at a time to let everyone enjoy nature and not to let the place get too crowded. There are a lot of fun activities to do at Kuruvadweep as one could experience how it is to cross a river in a bamboo boat and take a walk deep into nature.
Thekkady is loved as a tourist destination for the activities one can do there. You can go for bamboo rafting, boating, and trekking. And the main attraction here is the Periyar wildlife sanctuary where you can see numerous protected wild beasts.
Arrive at Cochin international airport or the nearest railway station. From there, our cab driver will pick you up and take you to Munnar, the most romantic hill station of Kerala. Sights on the way include CHEEYAPPARA and VALARA WATERFALLS. Cheeyappara waterfall is on your way 45km before you reach Munnar. Rock on which fall flows forms seven steps on the way, making the waterfall a spectacular vision by water pounding on each layer. And in a 12 km distance before Munnar, you can see Valara falls from the highway itself. The waterfall is covered by thick forest and rocky hills which make it hard to access the fall. Once you reach Munnar, check in to your hotel for the overnight stay.
After breakfast, our cab driver will take you towards the rolling hills around Munnar. This morning you can go hiking up to the Eco-point, Kundala Lake, Mattupetty Dam, and also boating. And in the afternoon visit Eravikulam National Park and the Tea Museum in the middle of the vast plantation. The park will be closed from February to April as it is the breeding season of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Evening Sightseeing continues to Hydel park and Munnar market if you have more time and energy. And at nightfall, you’ll be taken back to the resort for the overnight stay.
On the third day after having your breakfast, your driver will take you to Thekkady which is 120 km away from Munnar. Thekkady is well-known for its tea and cardamom plantations. The beauty of Thekkady lies in the lap of PERIYAR LAKE especially PERIYAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (our advised timings 1:45 pm or 3:30 pm on that same day or next day morning 7:30 am). Other attractions and activities in Thekkady include Kathakali and Kalaripayattu (ancient dance and martial art forms) and elephant safari. After the day’s visit, you’ll be driven back to the hotel/resort for overnight stay.
This morning after breakfast our cab driver will take you to the mini metro city of Kerala- Cochin. This city is called the queen of the Arabian Sea. Cochin present before you the remnants from her renowned days as you move through Fort Kochi, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Jew Town, Old Spice market, St.Francis church, Santa Cruz Basilica, and Chinese Fishing Nets. Kochi has historical as well as the modernized importance since one part of the city is rapidly developing while history resides on the other.
After the day’s visit, the cab driver will drop you at the Cochin airport or railway station according to guest departure timings.
