Munnar presents you the beauty of Kerala’s hill stations. Due to the regular cool climate here Munnar is seldom referred to as Kerala’s Kashmir. The largest tea growing region in Kerala is in Munnar hills. The factory amid the vast tea garden provides you with the best tea in your life. You can go for trekking, cycling, etc. through the narrow muddy pathways beside the hills. Kovalam is the best beach town with three different and adjacent beaches that could satisfy all kinds of tourists. One of them is less crowded and suitable for swimming, While one provides beach sports and the other has a wonderful view, all the facilities and is usually crowded.
This is an amazing package most suitable for honeymoon couples. Beaches and the foggy hill towns are two beautiful and romantic destinations. With lakes, valleys, mountains, streams, plantations, Munnar is an obvious harmony of nature. This place has few finest trekking trails and hilltop views. The beaches in Kovalam are the most popular one in Kerala. The Lighthouse beach locally called Vizhinjam beach has a wonderful view of the beach and town. You can enjoy beach sports, sunrise, and sunset, etc. while you are on the beach.
Arrive at Cochin international airport or the nearest railway station. From there, our cab driver will pick you up and take you to Munnar, the most romantic hill station of Kerala. Sights on the way include CHEEYAPPARA and VALARA WATERFALLS. Cheeyappara waterfall is on your way 45km before you reach Munnar. The rock on which fall flows forms seven steps on the way, making the waterfall a spectacular vision by water pounding on each layer. And in a 12 km distance before Munnar, you can see Valara falls from the highway itself. The waterfall is covered by thick forest and rocky hills which make it hard to access the fall. Once you reach Munnar, check in to your hotel for the overnight stay.
After breakfast, our cab driver will take you towards the rolling hills around Munnar. This morning you can go hiking up to the Eco-point, Kundala Lake, Mattupetty Dam, and also boating. And in the afternoon visit Eravikulam National Park and the Tea Museum in the middle of the vast plantation. The park will be closed from February to April as it is the breeding season of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Evening Sightseeing continues to Hydel park and Munnar market if you have more time and energy. And at nightfall, you’ll be taken back to the resort for the overnight stay.
On the third day after having your breakfast, your driver will take you to Thekkady which is 120 km away from Munnar. Thekkady is well-known for its tea and cardamom plantations. The beauty of Thekkady lies in the lap of PERIYAR LAKE especially PERIYAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (our advised timings 1:45 pm or 3:30 pm on that same day or next day morning 7:30 am). Other attractions and activities in Thekkady include Kathakali and Kalaripayattu (ancient dance and martial art forms) and elephant safari. After the day’s visit, you’ll be driven back to the hotel/resort for overnight stay.3
After breakfast, you’ll depart for your next adventure- Kettuvallam. This is a houseboat completely made of bamboos held together with coir knots. With furnished bedrooms, kitchen, washrooms, and other facilities, Kettuvallam is a small adorable house on the backwaters. You can check in on a Kettuvallam at 12 pm and check out at 9 am. On the daytime take a ride through the backwater and explore the unscathed beauty of rural Kerala. And spent the night floating on the water in this amazing bamboo home. Food will be served on the houseboat. A trip to gods owns country without a night in the Kettuvallam is actually half-done.
After breakfast, you’ll depart to Kovalam. This is a beach town by the Arabian Sea in Trivandrum, which is the capital city of the god’s own country, Kerala. It’s the only international beach destination in India. Kovalam is famous for its three main beaches:
1. LIGHTHOUSE BEACH
This wonderful beach and its lighthouse is the prime attraction of Kovalam. The beach is locally famous as Vizhinjam beach. Climb the top of the lighthouse to get a spectacular view of the coast and surrounding places. This is a busy beach with a lot of tourists coming every day to embrace the beauty of the sea.
2. HAWAH BEACH
Hawah beach is next to the Lighthouse beach where you can enjoy fresh seafood, a long boat ride, and surfing.
3. SAMUDRA BEACH
This is the less crowded beach in Kovalam. Being far from the city life the beach has maintained its authentic beauty. This is the most romantic beach for its isolated calm attractiveness. After exploring and enjoying the joy of beach, move on to your hotel/resort for overnight stay.
Next day in Kovalam after breakfast our cab driver will ride to you towards Poovar island which is an excellent getaway, where you can explore the beauty of nature, beaches & backwater. It is a great place where the lake, river, and sea meet with endless golden sand beaches. You can reach this wonderful island by boat. The island has resorts that are floating in the water. Poovar is famous as a major timber, sandalwood and ivory trading place. Also, Poovar is famous for backwater boating. You can also visit the famous Padmanabhaswamy temple once you’re back in Kovalam. And, check in to your resort for overnight stay.
On the last day of your tour, you can choose to explore the rest of Trivandrum city or can spend time at Kovalam beach till evening. Morning and evening sightseeing includes Kuthiramalika Palace Museum, The Napier Museum, Sree Chithra art gallery, zoological park, Neyyar Dam, Lion safari park, Science and Technology Museum, Kanakakunnu Palace and, planetarium. After the day’s visit, our cab driver will drop you at the Trivandrum International Airport or railway station according to guest departure timing.
